LATIN REQUIEM MASS ALTAR CARDS

1. "Formal Black"
"Formal Black" was designed to be subtle so that one's eyes would immediately be drawn to the image of Christ's crucifixion, a famous painting by Francisco de Zurbarán. Large areas of black flank both sides of the image to depict the utter loneliness that Jesus must have felt. The type is an especially easy to read font with diacritical marks. The center card layout places the "Placeat" prayer top right and the full text of the "Supplices" prayer bottom right. The Lavabo card includes the "Corpus tuum" prayer.
2. "Ornament"
"Ornament" combines the ornamentation of historic altar cards with crisp typesetting afforded by modern printing techniques. Formal and balanced, we used a typeface that is easy to read with large woodcutter-style introduction letters for easy reference during Mass. The center card layout places the "Placeat" prayer top right and the full text of the "Supplices" prayer bottom right. The Lavabo card includes the "Corpus tuum" prayer. Current inventory does not include diacritical marks.
3. "Starter Set Formal Black"
A priest asked us to design a special set of altar cards with notes for new priests to reference during Mass. As a result, we created a "Starter" set for High Mass and this set for Requiem Mass - both with diacritical marks and subtle reference notes. Places where a priest should bow his head are underlined in gold. The list of Kyries is in a box on the left so that you can use them as a guide. The order of elements after Communion is in a box on the bottom so that you can be sure not to do them out of sequence. Includes "Orate Fratres" and "Corpus tuum" prayers and partial "Supplices" prayer.
4. "Silver Black"
"Silver Black" features Mantegna's beautiful Renaissance painting, "The Crucifixion." We used a typeface reminiscent of vintage altar cards and large Gothic introduction letters for easy reference during Mass. The center card layout places the "Placeat" prayer top right and the full text of the "Supplices" prayer bottom right. The Lavabo card includes the "Corpus tuum" prayer. Current inventory does not include diacritical marks.
5. "Botticelli Trinity"
This altar card set prominently features a large image of Sandro Botticelli's outstanding Renaissance painting, "Trinity." This unique design has a very easy-to-read, practical layout. We placed the "Placeat" prayer top right on the center card for easy reference. The "Aufer" and "Oramus" prayers are top left on the center card. The center altar card also contains the full text of the "Supplices" prayer (bottom right). The Lavabo Card includes the "Corpus tuum prayer." The font is one that resembles what would have been used in Botticell's lifetime. Current inventory does not include diacritical marks.
6. "El Greco Christ On The Cross"
This somewhat contemporary design features an image of El Greco's striking painting titled, "Christ At The Cross." We placed the "Placeat" prayer top right on the center card for easy reference. The "Aufer" and "Oramus" prayers are top left on the center card. The center altar card also contains the full text of the "Supplices" prayer (bottom right). The Lavabo Card includes the "Corpus tuum prayer." Current inventory does not include diacritical marks.
7. "El Greco Oversized Picture"
This set contains a very large image of El Greco's "Christ At The Cross With Mary, John, And Mary Magdalene." We placed the "Placeat" prayer top right on the center card for easy reference. The "Aufer" and "Oramus" prayers are top left on the center card. The center altar card also contains the full text of the "Supplices" prayer (bottom right). The Lavabo Card includes the "Corpus tuum prayer." Current inventory does not include diacritical marks.
8. "Gray"
This is the accompanying Requiem version of our "Standard Red" Latin Low Mass Altar Cards. Please examine this layout closely because it is different from our other sets listed above. Current inventory does not include diacritical marks.
